FAQ's
What is wheatgrass?
Wheatgrass is the very young shoots of the wheat plant, genus Triticum'.
Why is it so good for me?
It possesses chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. The chlorophyll molecule is similar in structure to hemoglobin, leading some to believe that wheatgrass helps blood flow, digestion and general detoxification of the body.
Why do people drink wheatgrass?
Human beings cannot eat this grass as the unprocessed plant contains high levels of cellulose, which makes it indigestible. The fresh young shoots of this plant can be crushed to create a juice or dried to make a powder.
How does this differ from supplements on the marketplace?
It is fresh, live, enzymatically active, real juice - with nothing added or removed. Pressing is the only form of processing it has undergone. All other products are either powdered or frozen.
Will this give me everything I need and/or everything that is in my supplements?
This question is difficult to quantify, yet we can present the following facts:
- There are at least 3,850 powerful phytonutrients known to be present in fresh, whole foods.
- At present, science is only able to extract about 150 of these phytonutrients to make supplements.
- Generally, supplements do not contain live enzymes.
Therefore, consuming foods as close as possible to their natural, fresh state is of great importance.
Why are enzymes important?
We need them to extract the nutritional values from food. The enzymes in processed foods and cooked foods are dead.
Why is it not pasteurised?
Heat used in pasteurisation kills enzymes.
Does wheatgrass juice taste bad and make you want to gag?
Some wheatgrass juices will do that – but not this carefully grown and nurtured wheatgrass. The taste is different than wheatgrass you may be accustomed to since it is grown with Oceansolution.
Do you need to wash it down with another juice or water?
In general, it is not mixed with anything. In fact, it is highly recommended on an empty stomach for faster absorption. Everything you need is in the bottle. Just shake and drink!
What is the recommended daily intake?
